Being You - a poem
you know how movies tell us to "be you" and always 'be yourself?'
well, it's hard to do that, when everyone around you is out there being somebody else.
you ask yourself, "who am I?"
"what do people expect me to be?"
The answer is simple you see.
From the time you wake up to the time you're on your feet,
you're you.
From the time you eat breakfast and brush your teeth,
you're you.
From the time you get ready to do your day's work from nine to five,
you're you.
From the time you spend with your loved ones and people you can call 'mine',
you're still you.
Only you know who you are and who you're meant to be.
So don't let other people think you differently.
Go out and be YOU.
