After 2 years I'm working on my blog again. How wonderful.

Image
So wow! 2 year gap and now here I am. Back again writing about random shit of mine that nobody wants to read. And if you do, well, first, Really? And second, thanks! Man, so many things have happened since I last posted as you can imagine. And I just don't know, I forgot about this blog. That, and also I'm too lazy to write about stuff. I can write songs, tell me to write a song and I'll drop everything in my life to write you one. Honestly. And now I feel I have much more direction as to what I want to do in the future than I did 2 years ago, Like career wise. I'm a Songwriter and last year I had a Eureka moment where I was doing something completely different (filmmaking) when I realised, "fuck. I love Songwriting. And I want to do it forever". So yeah, thats it. Oh I also directed my first short film at the ripe age of 19 going on 20. It was amazing, the experience was one of a kind. It's hard (filmmaking is fucking hard guys, no joke) like frustrat...

Being You - a poem

Image
you know how movies tell us to "be you" and always 'be yourself?' well, it's hard to do that, when everyone around you is out there being somebody else. you ask yourself, "who am I?" "what do people expect me to be?" The answer is simple you see. From the time you wake up to the time you're on your feet, you're you. From the time you eat breakfast and brush your teeth, you're you. From the time you get ready to do your day's work from nine to five, you're you. From the time you spend with your loved ones and people you can call 'mine', you're still you. Only you know who you are and who you're meant to be. So don't let other people think you differently. Go out and be YOU. By Lysel Vaz.

Of Life And Death

Image
Have you ever wondered about death ? about dying? about how no one really knows how long they have until they hit the bucket?  I'm sure all of us have thought about it in some way. We all know that death is inevitable. We know we have a limited time here,on this earth. My biggest fear is that I might not get to say the things I want to say to someone if they die, and also that death will be painful. I don't want to die a painful death. No one does. I know that this a somber topic, but I had been thinking about death, and how we only have one life to do the things we want recently. Partly more so after reading a novel about it. It wasn't of death per say, but the character dies in the start and throughout the book she relives the same day she died over and over again  till she decides that her day is going to be different. The book is called, Before I fall by Lauren Oliver. I read it. And after I read this book, gosh, something changed. Let's be real. No one wants to di...

Out with the old and in with the new

Image
wow! the year 2016 was one hell of an adventure! an adventure that I enjoyed thoroughly and got through with scrapes and scratches but I still got through. the year 2016 saw many ups and downs I must admit. But we always remember the best things don't we? first of all, the most amazing thing that ever happened was that I got to travel to Singapore with my family for the summer. And mind you, the experience was one of a kind. I literally loved every minute that we spent in Singapore going for tours, exploring, sightseeing and so many beautiful things that I never even imagined existed until I actually saw it. In April we had our C.A.P.S(communication and public speaking) convocation. That is, we passed with flying colors. And my speech on 'U2 - a rock sensation' was well received. July, I started my 12th std, in September I along with my twin sister turned eighteen. A big part of our lives indeed. I got my Hogwarts letter seven years late! but better late than never right? t...

who is a woman?

Image
Who is a woman? I was actually inspired to write this poem by some pretty amazing women, thanks to my sociology assignment I was working on. I even submitted it to print in our school magazine. So, I hope you love it as much as I do. here goes, Enjoy! A woman is someone who is born in this world the same way as a man. A woman is someone who is capable of doing things anyone else can. A woman's ability is not prioritized only to housework, nursing or giving birth. A woman is born equal to a man on this earth. But a woman is not treated equally. She is treated inferior, even to a cow. That's what our country has come to, God knows how. A woman is someone who is smart, beautiful, strong and even fun. If you haven't met a woman like that, then you haven't met one. Being a man, probably has its disadvantages too. But being a woman we have, let's face it, more disadvantages than you. So let's stop this now and treat everyone in the same way they deserve...

Refuge for refugees

Image
Everyday millions of people around the world are forced to flee their homes. They have to leave everything behind and look forward to a bleak future, if they have a future. Can you imagine leaving behind everything you know and love? And be forced to flee inorder to survive? Well, I can't imagine it. The refugees who flee not only do they leave their homes, but their families too. Families are torn apart with the uncertainty that they will ever see their loved ones again. They have suffered tremendous loss in the process. Some have nothing and no one left to return too. Others have to live with their grief. But they still show considerable resilience. The story of refugees was all over the media. Refugees looking for refuge. Some were welcomed with love, others hate. The world seems to see refugees as a bad omen. Unwanted, Terrorists, just because they are fleeing terrorism. But can't people see that they are ordinary human beings looking for new homes for their families?  for ...
